Wine: The Healthiest Alcohol Drink

These are some among the long list of liquors that people from all ages (18+) love to indulge in. Of course, aside from the fact that alcohol is known as liquid courage, there are multiple other reasons as to why many enjoy drinking it – and it might be absurd if we include acquiring health benefits on the top of the list. As absurd as it may sound, according to studies, alcohol also has remarkable health benefits for your body, and it just might be that your favorite booze possesses the most of those. Yes, red wine is the healthiest alcohol drink ever! Here’s why:

Has anti-inflammatory property

           Wine contains a compound called resveratrol, which has been found to have both anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.

Chronic inflammation can lead to your immune system attacking healthy tissue and organs in your body over time. Prolonged chronic inflammation, if left untreated, can put you at risk for diseases including diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. Many foods help reduce inflammation, and multiple studies suggest wine to be one of them.

As reported by a Danish study, people who drank low-to-moderate amounts of wine were less likely to die from heart disease or stroke than those who drank beer or other liquors.

Wine is one of the many antioxidant-rich meals and beverages available. Antioxidants are substances that protect cells from oxidative stress and inflammation. An imbalance between antioxidants and unstable chemicals known as free radicals causes oxidative stress, which can damage your cells. Because red wine grapes contain more antioxidants than white grape types, consuming red wine may boost your blood antioxidant levels more than white wine.
